My parents came to Canada not long after WW2, but they left with almost no documents, which I understand were mostly destroyed in the Warsaw civil administration offices during the war. During their lifetimes they discussed little of their lives with me before their arrival in Canada.  My father only had an affidavit of his birth that was created for him by his sister, which he used to gain acceptance to Canada.&lt;br /&gt;

Is there any way to find alternate sources of documents, official or otherwise, for my father? Pelcowizna is located in the northeastern part of Warsaw, in the Praga-Północ district of Warsaw. It borders Białołęka, Targówek, and Golędzinów. It was once a manor farm founded by Józef Pelc.&lt;br /&gt;
