Thank you so very much for your reply! I would love some help.

My great-grandparents Ludwik Wiliński and Marcjanna Skibińska had eight children in the Włocławek/Kujawy region (Karchocin and Wnisławice villages, Kłóbka parish) between 1878 and 1895. My grandfather Walter (Władysław) Wiliński emigrated in 1913; two of his sisters' fates are already known (Agnieszka – Kwiatkowska, and the youngest, Stanisława, whose married name and wartime story I'm tracking separately). Four sisters remain unresolved:

Antonina Wilińska, b. 30 April 1878, Karchocin
Józefa Wilińska, b. 30 April 1879, Karchocin
Waleria Wilińska, b. 14 February 1887, Wnisławice
Bronisława Wilińska, b. 13 August 1892, Wnisławice

The research question I'd like scoped and quoted: for each of these four, establish a continuous life record from birth through death – specifically including whether she survived WW1 and the German occupation of the Włocławek area (1914–1918) and the Polish-Soviet War (1919–1921), not just what happened to her in WW2. I'm not assuming they made it that far, and I'd like the research to test that rather than assume it.

What do you advise?

Thank you so much for any assistance!

Hi Vivian,

From what I can see, both Bobrowniki and Tłuchowo are indexed on Geneteka for the years you are looking for, and both include scans of the original church books.

I am guessing that you did your search using the names of the women you are researching. I did the search using no names, just to see what Geneteka shows for those years. Attached is a screen shot with Tłuchowo as an example, so you can get the idea of what I am seeing.

If you'd like help to look for these specific people, feel free to post their names. If you'd really rather do the research yourself, then try doing the Geneteka search the way I did, and scanning down the list in the table of results. You may find them with an unexpected spelling.

Best regards,
Sophia

Hoping someone here has worked this specific area and hit the same wall. My family is from the villages around Tłuchowo and Bobrowniki, Lipno county — Dobrzyń country, historically Płock Gubernia under Russian rule, today kujawsko-pomorskie voivodeship. Under German occupation this fell in Regierungsbezirk Zichenau, annexed directly into East Prussia in October 1939 (not Reichsgau Wartheland, which is the more commonly discussed annexed zone).

I'm missing birth records for two women born there — one around 1887, one around 1894–95 — and PolishOrigins wasn't able to locate either one in an earlier project. Separately, I ran a free geneteka sweep this month on three of their siblings (all born in Bobrowniki, 1880–1883) across both kujawsko-pomorskie and mazowieckie, and got zero hits specifically for Bobrowniki or Tłuchowo parish itself — while the same searches turned up plenty of noise everywhere else. That pattern reads to me like "this parish just isn't transcribed online yet," not "the register is gone," but I'd rather ask people who actually know this region than guess.

So: has anyone researched Bobrowniki or Tłuchowo parish specifically (or Lipno county more generally) and run into this? A few things I'd love input on:

Do the civil/parish registers for this area and era (roughly 1878–1895) still exist — either at the parish, or the Archiwum Państwowe duplicate copy — or were they damaged/destroyed during the WWII occupation?
If they exist but just aren't indexed on geneteka, does anyone know which archive holds them and how to browse them directly (unit numbers, an AP Toruń/Włocławek finding aid, anything)?
Is there a known pattern for Zichenau-zone parishes specifically — better or worse survival than Wartheland-zone parishes — or is it too spotty to generalize?

Appreciate any leads — happy to share what I find back with the group
