Hi Everyone,

Barb, can you preform your magic with creating a tree? I saw a tree on MyHeritage for this family. Hoepfully it will help find information on the family. I hope this link works. If not, let me know.

You mentioned that you are looking for information from concentration camps. Have you checked out what is available on the Arolsen Archives website?

https://collections.arolsen-archives.org/en/search?s=Snopek

There are multiple entries for your Snopeks. When you follow the link I am giving you, you will see a table labelled "People" and you have to look beneath that box for the words "show all search results" in order to see the whole list. Then you'll have to page through it to find the relevant results. Note that although there are entries for both Edward and Stefania, they do not contain a great deal of information. What is useful is to obtain their identification numbers (i.e. Edward's prisoner identification number and Stefania's displaced person registration number). Then, you may wish to go through the process of contacting Arolsen to see whether they have additional documents.

Best regards,
Sophia

Hi, and welcome to the forum. How nice of you to help someone search for their grandparents.

At the moment, I have only a quick confirmation for you about a few details, as gleaned from a search on Geneteka (see the image below of a screenshot). Her grandmother's maiden name was indeed Wójcik, and she has her grandfather's parents' names correct also. Stefania's mother's name was Michalina.

Geneteka shows that Edward Snopek married Stefania Wójcik in 1928 in Warsaw. This is the church they married in, the parish of Matki Bozej Rozancowej (Our Lady of the Rosary):

Not sure what actual records can be found, but I thought you'd like this first bit of information.
