Jebawolek,

The simplest and most effective way to learn about family history and to find possible relatives is to do the leg work when you are in the village. Just talking with people, espcieally old ones or mayors is the surest way to find out about family living now or in the past in the village or the area. This is what we do on our Genealogy Tours for more than a decade with good effects.

House numbering most probably changed a few times since your grandfather emigrated but it doesn't mean that the same land is still kept in family hands.

I am going to Poland and will visit the little town where my grandfather was born (Siedliska, Gorlice). I know the house number where his family lived when he was born. Don't know if the house are still numbered the same. I would like to see if any of the family still live in the town and thought a phone directory might be a good resource. Any thoughts?
