Lots of research to get to that point. Borders and language changes, almost have to know town origin, and even then you think you're crazy for sifting through 135-150+ year old documents. But it can make sense, once you unravel clues, and be relentless in looking.

Wanted to give a special thank you to all those that helped me several years ago. I finally unraveled why my x2 GG John Przelenski(1856-1935) in Wheeling WV went by Schewinski. Took a lot of time, but figured out that the actual spelling was Przełęcki. When put into google translate, it says Schewinski when you hit listen. Had a relative of John that died in 1924, they lead to Lipinki. Sonnenfeld's lead to Ostrowitt, 5 miles away. And then found the marriage last night from 1880. Special thanks to Elzbieta, Ryzsard, Gilberto, and others, from 6-7 years ago for putting up with me. Thank you again, now have a trip planned out next summer...hopefully.
