Hi Kathkay
There were a lot of C.G.T.C. guards in U.S. Occupied Germany during 1945 - 1947.
This may interest you as what sets C.G.T.C. guards apart is their uniform not badges and perhaps your father might be the same if he wore a similar uniform.

Reason for this is and as it's never been done before and never again in U.S. Military history was that this very uniform given to them was actually the U.S. Army issued Uniform that was specially "Dyed Navy Blue" and this made them itch alot . This was only done or given to C.G.T.C. guards that the U.S. 'highly' respected and were previously Brygada Swietokryska members. Note my avatar is from one of his unique and rare shields he was given.

C.G.T.C. is Civilian Guard Training Centre. As it was politically tricky to call them military police.
Most of the legendary Brygada Swietokryska were used by Paton to form the 25 guard units of United States controlled germany after the war. To route and round up Nazis etc.
These men were classed as the DOOMED Soldiers.
The picture you have used is that of my father Bronislaw Urbanski from the House of Urbanski of Haczow and Przemysl.

In the period 1956 to 1958, there was a Transit Camp at Ulleborn West Germany, just southwest of Mainz, where the men were used as truck drivers and security guards. They were uniformed in a dark gray or black outfit, but I never noticed any patches. Ulleborn was used as a storage and tranist depot by the U. S. Army during this period.

Could be Transit Camp, I am presuming that my father was also one of these US Polish soldiers as he has the same uniform......

Was your father a pilot? These look like wings on the uniform which denote an airman.

Can anyone tell me whether the bird on the right? hand side of the uniform shirt means anything? I have a photo of my father with the same bird on his right? chest also but i couldn't upload this photo as it is very dark. This is one that I found that has exactly the same bird as the photo of my father.
