Hi Judy,
I think the priest made a mistake. He was not a soldier. His occupation was probably "a worker"
I do appreciate your kind thoughts but I have not accept any form of payment/donation for translations/research. It's nice to be able to help others.

This document informs that the groom's occupation was a worker but he was also a soldier. In the tsarist times, military service was long-term and very often information about this status was included in the metric records.

We make it known that in the presence of the witnesses: Józef Jabłoński, 55 years old and Marian Wierzbicki, 35 years old of the current year, farmers, residing in the village Dobiegniewo, a religious marriage was concluded on this day, between:

Mateusz Cyckiewicz, a single man, soldier, a son of the late Ignacy and the living Julianna nee Michalska, the Cyckiewicz spouses, workers, who was born in the village Dobiegniewo and lives there at his mother's, a worker, a parishioner of the Wistka parish, 29 years old of the current year
and
Józefa Skowrońska, a miss, a daughter of Maciej and Katarzyna nee Kucińska, the Skowroński spouses, workers, who was born in the village Dobiegniewo and lives there at her parents, a parishioner of the Wistka parish, 17 years and 8 months old of the current year.

This marriage was preceded by the three banns of marriage, announced on: October 18th/30th, October 25th/November 6th and November 1st/13th of the current year in the parish church in Wistka.

The bride's parents, who were present at writing this marriage act, gave their permission for the marriage. The religious marriage ceremony was performed by the priest Tomasz Olkowicz, the administrator of the Wistka parish. The newlyweds declared they did not enter into the prenuptial agreement.
This act was read to the newlyweds and the witnesses and it was signed by Us and newlywed husband, the newlywed wife and the witnesses were illiterate.

* Mateusz's surname was written by the priest as Cyckiewicz, but he himself signed the document as Ceckewicz. The priest also noted that he was a soldier (?) and later that he was a worker (?)
