I am so very grateful to you Dave. It took me over 30 years to find a document from Poland that shows where my family came from.
Hi Cathy.

Given names are entered in their Latin form and should be translated into the vernacular (Polish). Surnames are entered in the vernacular (Polish) form. The groom is Józef Tysper and the bride is Józefa Raczkowiak. Both were members of the parish of Zbąszyn. The groom lived in the village of Przyprostynia and the bride lived in the village of Boruja. Both the witnesses were from the village of Boruja and the second witness was Kacper (also spelled Kaspar) Raczkowiak. The English version of his name is Casper (like in the friendly ghost). It is likely that he was a relative of the bride.

Attached is a screenshot of a map which shows Zbąszyn, Przyprostynia, and Boruja. For your convenience in future research I’m attaching a PDF list of Latin given names with their Polish and English versions.

Wishing you continued success,
