Actually, I believe Traveler is looking for Stefania (Krysiak) Plona. Plonia is a not the correct spelling. I believe Stefania may be living or lived near Pupkowizna.

thank you ever so much for all this information. I will work on updating my records and correcting the mistakes which were probably made on the immigration papers. You have been so very helpful, even if I never find the information I am looking for
God bless,
My mother's parents were:
Father -Stanislaw Bestry b.12.25.1885 in Lomza, Podlaskie
his father was Walenty Bystre 1869; his mother was Anna Kaczmarczyk born 1886 Dudowizna, Mazowieckie

1. Surname: "Bestry" or "Bystre" should be: Bystry
2. Something is wrong. Mother was born one year after the birth of her son.
Dudowizna belongs to the parish Poreba-Kocęby. All records (1808-1910) from this parish, were written & they are here: GENETEKA. There is no Anna Kaczmarczyk born record.

traveler wrote:

(...)
Mother: Maryanna A. Polewarczyk born 1888 Piontkowmjzra Russia/Poland
her father was Martin Polewarczyk; her mother was Anna Popielarczyk ( don't know birth dates or towns)

1. "Polewarczyk"should be: Polewaczyk There is a lot of records for that surname.
2. "Piontkowmjzra" should be: Piątkowizna
Piątkowizna belonged to the parish Turośl in 1888. Unfortunately, the books of that period (nineteenth century) is restricted. There are only available book from the years 1890-1908: Archiwum Państwowe w Białymstoku Oddział w Łomży.
Now Piątkowizna belongs to the parish Zalas. Scans of the books are available from the years 1902-1908 (only births and deaths). I checked. There are there surnames: Polewaczyk and Popielarczyk. But other names.

traveler wrote:

(...)
Again, maybe this should be in a separate thread, but might connect to Krysiak/Plona

In the parish Turośl reported birth to two children:
* Catherine Plona in 1829
* Rosalie Plona in 1826

Marriages in Drozdowo & Łomża:
* 1866: Apolinary Dziomeński	& Maryanna Plona - in parish Drozdowo,
* 1865: Jakób Plona & Maryanna Kalinowski - in parish Drozdowo,
* 1845: Piotr Plona & Ludwika Aniszewska - in parish Łomża,
* 1864: Julian Wykewski & Anna Plona - in parish Drozdowo

I think that the children in the picture are already adults and probably have a facebook ... Maybe this way you will be able to find something? This will not help - I do not have facebook!
In my opinion, the surname is not written today Plonia .... just something else.

Dzięki Elżbieto !
Bea gives a link (rather series of link) in the above message. I do not understand much (it is a conversatyion with references I am not familiar with). I understood one or two things.
1) Marianny z pewnością brzmi ,,Polewaczyk" - it suggests the name of your Maryanna is Polewaczyk
2) A Good Men made a project here http://poczekalnia.genealodzy.pl/ when you click on the big red WEJSCIE you get to http://poczekalnia.genealodzy.pl/pliki/ then clicking one after another I got here
http://poczekalnia.genealodzy.pl/pliki/AP-Pultusk/ where I see Myszyniec with a collection of death records

I got lost, but at one moment get here
http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryki.php?op=ch
where you can search names
I wrote "Krysiak", got a map with 50 places, moved to see Myszyniec and nearby.

The small red logo-church right to Myszyniec, click, it shows for Krysiak:
Zespół: 675/D- Łyse
Urodzeń: 135 - birth
Małżeństw: 28 - marriage
Zgonów: 64 -death

Searchibg "Plona" it gives:
Zespół: 675/D- Łyse
Urodzeń: 0
Małżeństw: 1
Zgonów: 1

Probably that way you may seek a little.
Best,
Elzbieta
thank you ever so much for ALL the information. I have started working on the contacts. For the church in Myszyniec they listed an email on their website: email: Kliknij aby wypełnić formularz kontaktowy. I thought it might be easier for the church to reply by email. however, since I have never sent any emails to Poland, I must be doing something incorrectly since I keep getting an error message. Can you help me with the above email address? In US we have an @ sign - should there be an @ in Kliknij aby wypełnić formularz kontaktowy?
Thank you so very much!
Depending on years you are seeking for, you may have to write to different parishes.
The oldest records: Myszyniec
Between 1884 and 1903: Lyse
Since 1903: Zalas
It is subject to verification in real life. Below you will find how I dig that information.
According to the reference book on line:
"Skorowidz miejscowości Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z oznaczeniem terytorjalnie im właściwych władz i urzędów oraz urządzeń komunikacyjnych;
Index of localities of the Republic of Poland with designation of competent authorities and offices, including communication facilities
Przemyśl: Książnica Naukowa, rok 1933?, Redaktor [Publisher]: Tadeusz Bystrzycki
Compiled by: Jozej Majewski, secretary of national police, Witold Blazynski, justice of regional court"

On line in various places, I looked up today in Poznan, this website is fast:
We have Zalas on page 1961 / 2096:
gmina: Lyse
powiat: Ostroleka
wojewodztwo: Bialystok
court: (two levels: Myszyniec, Lomza)
parish: (Latin:loco, in place)

Earlier in XIX century the parish was in Myszyniec (history by teachers):
Hi Bea and Elzbieta,
Thank you for all your efforts! My cousin said : about 80% of our relatives came from the Lyse/Zalas/Kolno area.
I would have drawn the same conclusion you did Elizbieta about my parents just traveling and taking a photo of a nice church except that they only took 12 photos on the entire trip and most had relatives in them or signs of the villages they visited. So it was as if they were telling a story and for that reason I believe this village of Myszyniec was visited for a purpose. My parents had been before to Poland and on that visit found where my grandfather had died and commissioned a memorial marker be made. on this trip they took a picture of it and visited relatives whom they had been sending packages of goods to help them better their lives. the two other people in the car are my aunt and uncle who also were on the trip to visit relatives.
Bea, I think your hint above about Piatkowizna is very telling since my cousin says most came from the Lyse/Zalas/Kolno area. thank you for finding the Myszyniec connection! You are amazing.
again, thank you both for all your help.
We just don't know why they visited Myszyniec. So I believe the information you found related to Myszyniec might be correct!
Hi Pat,

For me visiting Myszyniec is straghtforward. They came long distance to Poland, for few days, had time, and wanted to see the countryside, or go to the shop, or to the hairdresser, buy a newspaper, or buy a cake they would remember from their childhood, or anything similar. Like today: seasighting, making a souvenir picture.

Your Mom looks happy, sunny day, definitely souvenir of the nice travel. You can see 2 grey heads in the back row of the car, and 1 in the front, they were probably 5 inside - the driver took picture of your Mom with the pretty church in the background.

Zalas is a small willage, less than 500 persons
Myszyniec is bigger, a little more than 3000 persons, it is also "chief village" for smaller ones nearby - gmina

Kurpie are nice area.
Here Łyse
http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%81yse_%28wojew%C3%B3dztwo_mazowieckie%29
Here Myszyniec (the capital of Kurpie)
http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myszyniec

I will look other names and places later.
Best,
I thought since my Father took the picture of my Mother in the village, that Myszyniec MIGHT be related to HER parents. I don't want to confuse this "topic" but I am going to provide her family information below just in case you might have some insights into this mystery of "the picture" taken in 1973.
My mother's parents were: Father -Stanislaw Bestry b.12.25.1885 in Lomza, Podlaskie
his father was Walenty Bystre 1869; his mother was Anna Kaczmarczyk born 1886 Dudowizna, Mazowieckie
Mother: Maryanna A. Polewarczyk born 1888 Piontkowmjzra Russia/Poland
her father was Martin Polewarczyk; her mother was Anna Popielarczyk ( don't know birth dates or towns)
Again, maybe this should be in a separate thread, but might connect to Krysiak/Plona
Thank you again,
I am trying to find Stephanie Plonia who I believe is the daughter of Ignacy Krysiak who returned to Poland around 1929 and died about 1943. Ignatius' father Jan Krysiak was from Zalas. The attached picture might be a picture of Stephanie and her family, but we are not positive. If you have any information about the Plonia family or the family in this picture, I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Ignacy was my grandfather.
Thank you

Hi Traveler,

It will not be easy, because Zalas is ambigous, many Krysiak, and the year 1943 may not be in publicly available records (the rule of 100 years and its interprestation by various administration).

GEOGRAPHY:
In the old geography book from circa 1900, entries for Zalas are on this page:
http://dir.icm.edu.pl/pl/Slownik_geograficzny/Tom_XIV/327

Left bottom:
1) not interesting
2) Zalas osada, powiat Ostrowski, gmina i parafia Długosiodło -- on today google map
Zalas, Gmina Długosiodło, Poland
The above Zalas is nearby Długosiodło
3) Zalas, wies kuripowska i obreb lesny, gmina Łyse -- Kurpie is a region and ethinicity, villages Kadzidło, Łyse i Myszyniec http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurpie
Zalas, near Myszyniec, Poland- this Zalas is circa 20 km East bird distance from Myszyniec

The above two Zalas' are distant circa 85 km, both in the North-East of today Poland

Right top:
Zalas, powiat chrzanowski, nearby Krzeszowice
That Zalas is in between Krakow and Katowice, South-West of today Poland (distant circa 600 km from 2) or 3))

NAMES:
Krysiak is very popular name, more than 9 thousand people today
http://www.moikrewni.pl/mapa/kompletny/krysiak.html

No name Plonia in Poland
But almost 800 Plona, mostly in North-East, but also a grouping in Chorzow and Gliwice area, South-West.

AMBIGUITY:
At this stage we have two groups (Zalas, Krysiak, Plona) in North-East, and in South-West.
More information is needed to find.

NOTES:
1.
When digging the above triplet, as well as Stefania Plona Krysiak, I found a local newspaper, April 2013, in Ukta, North of Myszyniec, with church celebrations in memory of Krysiak and Plona
http://www.parafiaukta.pl/files/g%C5%82os_z_krzy%C5%BCa_28_kwietnia_2013.pdf
Krysiak and Plona in the same parish today, celebrating memories of ancestors.

2.
http://myszyniec.nowoczesnagmina.pl/?a=3615
In this financial information from 2012 by the burgmester of Myszyniec there is a long list of sponsored farmers, amongst them one Krysiak and one Plona

3.
The page http://www.stankiewicze.com/index.php?kat=49&sub=926
quotes two "Krysiak Jan" for "Łyse woj. mazowieckie ZG" - death records for Łyse, Mazowieckie, Poland - North-East, nearby Myszyniec
I have no idea if it is related in anyway to your search.

Do you have someting else, other hints?
Best,
Hi,
There is not a single person surname of Plonia or Płonia in Poland.
http://translate.google.pl/translate?sl=pl&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=pl&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.moikrewni.pl%2Fmapa%2Fkompletny%2Fp%2525C5%252582onia.html&act=url

You need to find out the correct surname.

There are many villages in named Zalas in Poland.
In my opinion, correct Zalas village is that in the administrative district of Gmina Łyse,
I checked in the phone book 2004, the surname Krysiak still found in the village.

                                      Hello,
I am trying to find Stephanie Plonia who I believe is the daughter of Ignacy Krysiak who returned to Poland around 1929 and died about 1943. Ignatius' father Jan Krysiak was from Zalas. The attached picture might be a picture of Stephanie and her family, but we are not positive. If you have any information about the Plonia family or the family in this picture, I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Ignacy was my grandfather.
Thank you
