According to the Behind the Names website:
ERZSÉBET
GENDER: Feminine
USAGE: Hungarian
PRONOUNCED: ER-zhay-bet [key]
Meaning & History
Hungarian form of ELIZABETH

Alžbeta, Eliška (Slovak for Elizabeth)

Slovakia was part of the Hungarian part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire up until WWI. The Hungarian equivalent for Elizabeth is very close, so it seems like you may have found the correct record. ~PL

I located my great-grandmother's marriage license. She was married in the USA. It lists her mother's name as Erzabet and lists her hometown as Michalovce, Slovakia.

I also found a baptismal record from Michalovce, Slovakia for a girl with the same last name who is about the same age as Erzabet but her first name is spelled Elizabeth.

I'm trying to find out if these are variations in spelling of the same name or if they would be considered distinct names in Slovak. What is the probability that I found my great-great grandmother's baptismal record?
