Jurgiel (no date source) - a group of names derived from the name of Jerzy. The Greek name Georgios, from georgios 'farmer', was taken over by Slavic languages in several forms. In Old Polish the known form were Jerzy, Jura, Jurg (through the German language), in the Eastern Borderlands Jurij (Yuri).
