I know that indexing for 1883-1889 records from Barglow Parish has been completed. Does anyone know when Geneteka will be updated with this records?

Metryki opens a page displaying the numbers of the records.
Click on the one you found indexed in Geneteka.
Once the image loads, click on the 3rd. icon at the top of the page (just abobe the polish word Powieksz) to download it to your PC.
Carol,

The SKAN icon in Geneteka leads either to ZoSIA or to Metryki.
Which is your case?
I don't know director's name or address of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
I have used Geneteka successfully in searching for ancestors in Podlaskie province but I find that there are few or no references after 1850. I realize that this is when the Russians required that baptisms, marriages and deaths be recorded in that language. Does anyone know if there are any plans to index those records?
In Geneteka click on the icon 'clock' (plany) to see a list of places that are being indexed or waiting for volunteers. The same in Metryki.
Unfortunately the parish I'm interested in is not on the list.
Hello,

I have used Geneteka successfully in searching for ancestors in Podlaskie province but I find that there are few or no references after 1850. I realize that this is when the Russians required that baptisms, marriages and deaths be recorded in that language. Does anyone know if there are any plans to index those records?
Are there people who index these directly from the parish records, or if it is in an index can we assume there is a scan somewhere? I would like to ask at the Geneteka site but I don't speak Polish and not sure if I can communicate the question correctly via Google translation.
Christine,

Geneteka volunteers transcribe records from indexes and also from records. In some cases, volunteers sign an agreement stating they are not allowed to provide scanned copies of the index/record. Some volunteers have copy of the records and can give you a copy (since they did not sign the agreement), some have just a copy of the index (that would be of no help to you).

The last column of the Geneteka index displays the volunteer's name. Once you register to Geneteka you can ask him/her if he/she has a copy of the record. Some volunteers do not respond, but you have nothing to lose in trying. A short message is included below.

You can also request a copy to the Archive State. In Zale case, I see that some records are also kept at the Diocese Archives in Plock.
Cynthia,

Zambski records are kept in two localtions:
- the AP (Archiwum Panstwowe) in Plock, starting 1874, scans in ZoSIA (http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/79/143/0/?q=zambski&wynik=7&rpp=15&page=1#tabZespol) and in Metryki (http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/ar6-zs0143d)
- the AD (Archiwum Diecezjalne) in Plocki, starting 1696:
Pradziad: 514/213/0
Zambski Kościelne, community Obryte 1696-1825, 1848-1889
rzymskokatolickie
małżeństwa

Unfortunately, AD Plock records are not scanned, so far. From what I have read in Genealodzy forum they don't personal to perform genealogical searches, nor funds to digitalize their books. You can ask for help in the following topic:
http://genealodzy.pl/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-5257.phtml

I have been able to find all of my records that were indexed on Geneteka for Lubelskie either at Family Search or the Polish Archives.
Which province is the village of Zambski in?
Hello,

This question is for anyone who has used the Geneteka online database. I found the marriage of my one of my great-grandparents in the database, but the original record was not scanned for download so I only have the index. The index shows Antoni Zolnierzak and Magdalena Kupis were married in 1858 the village of Zambski. If the original record was not scanned in Geneteka, does that mean there is no further information available, or does it mean I need to get the document through another resource? Where do you suggest I go for the original document?

Thank you for any help you can offer! I have found all the U.S. documentation for all 8 grandparents, but I am just beginning to do research in Poland. Luckily, Geneteka provided me with this marriage index and the original birth records for my grandfather and great-uncle, so it is encouraging!!!

Kind regards,
