Hello Norbert... I hope life is treating you well. I am still in small increments looking where ever I can manage to look, BUT I am finding it very difficult to get access to the above online search links you put in above from Elzbieta. Firstly unable to Sign up, let alone access any records?? Could it be that there is something I am doing wrong, or is it the site set up?
Still very desperate to move ahead with my search for Boyer family/s and other connected families and ethnic origins.

I put a reply post up but it's not here...?? I was just wanting to say, I'm still about, that I have been distracted with a couple of jobs to do, Oil Paintings... Been a tad slow this end getting them done and also getting through the links searching Boyer/Boyar/Borjar/Bojar.... I am now even wondering if my NZ Boyer was shortened and spelt by an Englishman or and Irishman hahaha.... who know's back then. We have many European immigrants back in the days who did in fact have their names altered or shorted or both, and Marianne, Marianna, Maria's became Mary's... Goodness knows why... Even my Marianne was later known and buried under the name Mary. tsk... So sad that they altered a persons name or that they chose to.

Later in W11, a lot of the earlier German folk with German surnames, decided to change their names entirely.. due to the ridicule. Terrible times.

Any I'm still on board and not far away... thank you

Probably Berżniki, it is in Poland, Sejny area, circa 2 miles to the border with Lithuania.
Okulanis (like many other names ending with -nis) sounds very much Lithuanian.
Most of them are in Sejny area:
Hello... I am stuck with absolutely no information on my GGG Grandfather John Herman August Boyer born c1848/1850, who came to New Zealand c1875, from Memel, now known as Klaipaedia, Lithuania.

I apologise if I have posted this before on the forum in the last few days, I have lost track.

I have no other information on him.

Thank you kindly

I would be so very grateful for any assistance going forward on my search.
