Bacz-; Baczyński from old Polish baczyć- to observe, watch or "bacza- flock-master.

In 2002 there were 2112 people using the surname Baczyński (with Polish letter ń - accent above n. Detailed map can be found here https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Baczy%C5%84ski .

In 19th century there were also two noble Baczyński families:

Baczyński coat of arms Sas, from Baczyn in Ruś (eastern edge of old Poland)
Baczyński, no coat of arms, ennobled in 1775 (no information about place of origin).

I am interested in the origin of the surname BACZYNSKI. It has been Americanized to BACHINSKI.
