You're right I spelled the name wrong!

Zenon,

I had to find some paperwork that my mother had, and yes I spelled the name incorrectly. It is FIJALKOWSKI. Thank you so much for the information on both sides. I do know that the Fijalkowski's were from the Lowicz area which I hope to visit during my trip to Poland.

First and foremost, are you sure that in the Fiajkowski surname there is 'i' after 'a'? Or maybe instead of 'j' there should be Polish letter 'ł' - Fiałkowski?

According to professor Rymut database there were no people using surname Fiajkowski in 2002 in Poland.

I will try to write you what I found about both possible variations of your surname.

Fajkowski from Polish fajka - pipe (for tobacco).

These are the last names of my mothers parents. I am very interested in the origin of Fiajkowski (this was her mothers maiden name who came from Lowicz).
