thanks Richard for the opinion of your experience.

After looking at the page again I realized the error might have been rather easy to figure out after all. the record directly above was a groom with the surname Hrynkiewicz and Wincenty's parents are listed as being Hrynkiewicz's also so it seems that the record keeper or rather copier made a mistake and recoppied the wrong name for the the grooms parents. I can't believe I missed this until now

I guess having a piece of humble pie is good for you every so often

I have no idea how to explain your apparent discrepancy, except for possibly one thing I have found in the records I have researched. All the Polish records I've found (in LDS microfilms) were the COPIES the priest made from the actual parish register. From what I understand, those copies were what wound up in the Polish archives, and that the LDS folks microfilmed. In reviewing the records for my ancestors, it's clear that they did the copying in batches...maybe pages, weeks or months at a time. It's really obvious when a column of entries (example: ditto marks) slowly creep to the side down the page. Also, identical handwriting in page after page was another clue. While the priests took their record keeping seriously, it's still possible for mistakes to show up.

I guess what I am saying, is that unless the records you find are the ACTUAL parish records, then there is a chance that some of the entries got transposed or mixed up with other records, during the copying process.

Good luck,

Dear friends,

In my search for marriage records of my ancestors I found my 3rd great grandfather Jozef Fronckiewicz' as well as twin brother Jakub's and what was seemingly his older brother Wincenty's marriage. I have found all three brothers birth records and they all list Antoni Fronckiewicz and Teresa Jastrzembska as the parents. The marriage records list the same parents, except when it came to the eldest brother Wincenty's marriage record from 1840. As he was born in 1814 the age of 26 is spot on and his brother Jakub, was apparently a witness at his wedding.
Yet clearly the parents names are not correct or if they are correct It confounds me how the heck they're his parents?

I will attach Wincenty's birth and marriage record so you can view yourselves., and perhaps make a deduction.

Wincenty's birth is 6th from the top

Wincenty and Jakubs marriages are #3 and #6 on the bottom of the page across from each other.
