Hi,
How's it going? Got another one for you.
Any idea what the symbolism is behind the Korybut coat of arms? If not, how can I find out without spending a lot on heraldry research?

Appreciate it if you could get back to me quick. Dad's birthday coming up and I'm trying to put something together on our surname.

Hi,

Wren in Polish is "strzyżyk". It doesn't resemble Woro or Wrona at all...

In Polish wikipedia here: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woronieccy you can find lots of information about the house of Woronieckis as well as about a few of its members (scroll a little down). Thank you so much for the info. Quick, too! One other question: My Dad has always said that it was 'wren' rather than a 'crow' or 'raven' as the translation for Woro, Wrona. Is that possible? I'd hate to tell him he's been wrong for 50 years ! Also, any suggestions on where to find out if members of the Korybut-Woroniecki royalty migrated to America and when?

Wron-; Woroniecki from Polish wrona - crow, also may be from Ukrainian voron - "raven".

In 2002 there were 730 people using the surname Woroniecki living in Poland. Detailed map can be found here https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Woroniecki .

In 19th century there was one noble family:

Woroniecki coat of arms Korybut called that from 1529, from today's Lithuania.
