Hello Deidre,

Braciszewski from Polish brat - "brother” or from the town name Braciszewo.

In 2002 there were 233 men and 283 women using the surname Braciszewski living in Poland. The Braciszewski people are concentrated in Poznan, Gniezno and Żnin counties. Detailed map of the surname distribution can be found here https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Braciszewski .

In 19th century there was one Braciszewski noble family: Braciszewski coat of arms Zagłoba from Braciszewo in Lomza Province

Koteras from German Kotter - „cottager” or from kotery- „mounds in meadows, stretches of plowed land".

In 2002 there were 314 people using the surname Koteras also concentrated in Poznan area. Detailed map of the surname distribution can be found here https://nazwiska-polskie.pl/Koteras .
Sources

I looked at the Poznan Project database and found only one entry of Martinus Branszewski (not Braciszewski), who married to Cecylia Koteras in 1849 in Sławno parish (nearby Gniezno). To only way to learn about the town where he was born is to check the details in this marriage certificate. Books from this parish are kept either in Poznan State Archives and in Gniezno Archbishop Archives. You can try to contact any of them via e-mail and ask for copy of this record you found. The Archbishop Archives in Gniezno are the one of a few church archives in Poland (and maybe the only one now) which welcomes requests made via mail or e-mail. Contact details for Poznan Archives you will find here: http://www.poznan.ap.gov.pl/kontakt.htm and for Archbishop Archives in Gniezno here: http://www.aag.gniezno.opoka.org.pl/kontakt/ .

In case you haven't read it yet you can try to use hints from this article: "Remote" research in Polish State Archives - practical hints
