Hi Felicja,

You received many hints about your grandfather town name. Are you able to upload scan/picture of your grandfather declaration of intention That might help us to verify our guesses.

It would be also great to know about any bigger town in the neighborhood of your Dziegetewo or at least region (part of Poland back then).

Probably Dziegieniewo, now Degenevo, Belarus. 54°34' N 26°00' E
10 km NNE of Polany (Polyany), 18 km NNE of Oszmiana (Ashmyany), 120 km WNW of Minsk.

Hi, after almost giving up on ever finding the town my grandfather came from (he would only list Russia or Poland) I was overjoyed to come across a town listed on his declaration of intention filed with the county clerk.
