WOW, you all are coming up with good info to work with! I found the list I believe on Ancestry, and I do know that they were going to Sayreville, NJ, because that is where Aniela's line settled (my great grandmother - her sister - went to visit her there for a few years before moving to Chicago and getting married).

As far as the last name in the second line, I still see a "W" but now I see in the first line it looks like an "A." *sigh* lol
The other thing I don't understand about this, is something PolishLibrarian touched on. The fact is, Aniela's siblings are: Andrzej Kwasniewski (married to Maria Zieba), Jozef Kwasniewski (married to Katarzyna Polek), Malgorzata Kwasniewski, Antonina Kwasniewski (married to Tomasz Kozubowski), Maria Kwasniewski (married to Jozef Wisniewski) and Karolina Kwasniewski (who married Roman Macewicz). None of the people Aniela is traveling with are related to her according to the information I received from a cousin sent by the parish in Lipnica Murowana.
But - I shall start searching for people based on your detective work, and hope I find a connection to the rest of this family
Thank you all for helping, I really appreciate it

What I see when I look at the manifest is that the people in lines 12-17 were travelling together. All were from the same town Lipnica ???? in Poland and going to perhaps Sayreville NJ (hard to tell because DITTO has been written over the town name, but based on the way Brooklyn NY is written on Line 3 this seems to be NJ). So line 12 & 13 are a mother and daughter going to their husband/father. It appears that only his first name is listed (unusual but possibly consistent with the following lines - no need to list since his last name would be the same as his wife). Then you have Franciszek Urbanski, his wife Katarzyna and daughter Josefa going to his 3 brothers, her brothers-in-law and daughter's uncles - Thomas + Andres + Michal (no last name listed as it is the same as for Franciszek - Urbanski). Aniela Kwasniewski I would guess could be Katarzyna Urbanski's sister. Although it appears she's going to brother-in-law Thomas as well but can't figure out the second word (looks like Va??in, but that can't be since V is not in the Polish alphabet; then again look at Line 5 - she appears to be going to Vanborn St. Brooklyn, so maybe it is a V which is how W is pronounced), so maybe it is a different Thomas with a different last name because he's married to Aniela's sister. As to Bill's comment about Gilberton - that is the name of the town Line 18 is going to in PA.

Sorry - rather convoluted but just trying to work out what the info looks like, and with questionable letters, looking at other entries on the page to try to verify my guesses. Hope it helps you think about what might be here. Good luck. This one is tough because of the write-overs.

                                      Hi Jackie,
I don't know if I'll be much help, but here goes— this is a tough one! It's a little confusing: what's written in line 14 isn't the same as line 14, except for "brother-in-law Thomas". I'm not certain that what's on the rest of the line is the surname or not. Line 14 looks like Andres Michael, and the blotches in between look like they might mean something or they're just blotches. On line 17, it looks like "Wasnia". Do you know where they were going? Do you think some of these words are the names of the places to which they're going? The other lines give the names of the counties, street addresses, and the like. Whoever wrote this list made it a real challenge to read!

I'm curious: where did you get this list? How did you find it?

Hi all!

My cousin and I have a passenger list with a name notated on it that we've been unable to decipher. I'm hoping I can get your best guesses, since many of you know what would look like a proper Polish surname and what definitely would not be one.

Lines 14 & 17 are the relevant lines, as they're both going to see the same person in the US, Thomas.
I've also included an inset of the name I'm trying to read.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
