Hi everyone,
I´m just trying to find records of my parents and wondered
if anyone could help me locate the USC where those records
might be held. The area is a small village called Lopuzno
near Sambor, around the 1916 - 1920 era.
With some luck the records might even be online. I would
gratefully appreciate any assistance,
thank you, Barbara.

Hi Barbara,

Sambor, Sambir - today Ukraina, more than twenty pages in the old geography book, with a lot of details, starting here
http://dir.icm.edu.pl/pl/Slownik_geograficzny/Tom_X/227

Lopuzno, in Polish should be with diacritic, Łopuszno or alike.

On the following page, right side, in the 15th line, counting from the top
http://dir.icm.edu.pl/pl/Slownik_geograficzny/Tom_X/245
you see the name Łopuszanka

Once I had that, I looked up wiki, and found
Łopuszanka Chomina
http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%81opuszanka_Chomina
-- in Ukrainian Cyrillic it's Лопушанка-Хомина

Łopuszanka Chomina is in Sambor area, it is also an indexed name itself in the old geography book
http://dir.icm.edu.pl/pl/Slownik_geograficzny/Tom_V/725

You can see both places on Google maps, with:
Sambor, Sambir, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine
Łopuszanka Chomina, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine
... and discover Ukrainian transliteration as Lopushanka-Khomyna
Łopuszanka Chomina is South-West of Sambor, 37 km distance.
Less than 15 km bird distance from Polish border (and absolutely beautiful area of lake Solina)

So far fo geography.

ADDED:
In the following book we may see parishes:
Skorowidz miejscowości Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z oznaczeniem terytorjalnie im właściwych władz i urzędów oraz urządzeń komunikacyjnych; Index of localities of the Republic of Poland with designation of competent authorities and offices, including communication facilities
Przemyśl: Książnica Naukowa, rok 1933?, Redaktor [Publisher]: Tadeusz Bystrzycki
Compiled by: Jozej Majewski, secretary of national police, Witold Blazynski, justice of regional court
On line in various places, i.e. Legnica Digital Library: http://bcdl.pl/dlibra/doccontent?id=519&from=FBC

Łopuszanka is on the top of page 584.
We see two names in Sambor area:
Łopuszanka Chomina in the first line, and
Łopuszna in the 7th line, with parish (last column) in Podbuż.

Podbuż in Polish, is Pidbuzh, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine, 28 km South of Sambor, East of Łopuszna.

I tend to believe the name Lopuzno you are looking for is Łopuszna.

Googling with "parafia Podbuż" gives an answer (in Polish):
http://www.podbuz.pl/viewpage.php?page_id=1
with some pictures, and description of a visit here
http://www.podbuz.pl/articles.php?article_id=3

ADDED more:
After reading much more on this Podbuż site (and especially all work they do to restore old abandoned cemetery), I found a story written by an old lady, Jarosława Ruczkówna, memories of a family deported by Soviets to Kazakhstan, some of them could return back to Poland with the Red Cross help, some could join Anders army, and leave through that historical path of the WWII: Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Monte Casino, to England.
http://www.podbuz.pl/articles.php?article_id=14

Best,
Elzbieta
