He said that he is willing to translate letters from English to Polish and/or Polish to English. Not just word for word; he will translate it so it makes sense in the Polish language. About the process, see the first post of this topic.
In my opinion, I don't see any reason why others could not see a birth/marriage/death of a researcher (unless the records contain bad facts about the person), but I do respect who wants total privacy.
On the other hand, the good thing about being publicly shared is that when one less expects the ancestor being looked for may appear as a witness or a godparent in someone's else record.

To fill in a bit of Chicago background for the death notice Elzbieta translated for you....This is very typical of the set format used by the Dziennik Chicagoski, which was a Polish language daily newspaper associated with the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America. The opening lines are part of the set formula used at the time speaking of the deceased having been strengthened by the Holy Sacraments and describing the last illness as being either serious and short or serious and long. How closely that description resembled reality is anyone's guess just as today's typical opening of a death notice like "died at home surrounded by her loving family" does not necessarily describe the actual event.
The full name of the church where the funeral took place was probably Old St. Stephen's which no longer exists. The church was demolished about 50 years ago to allow for the construction of the Kennedy Expressway. The cemetery is St. Adalbert's located on the border of Chicago and Niles, Illinois near 6500 North along Harlem Avenue. It is the oldest Polish cemetery in Chicago and is a considerable distance from where the family lived. At the time of the funeral it would have been a time consuming trip from St. Stephen's to the cemetery since there were no expressways and the funeral procession would have traveled along city streets with all the traffic that entailed.
The undertaker's telephone number would have been MOnroe 4643. Until the late 1960s phone numbers in Chicago used a name prefix with the first two letters of the name standing for the numbers associated with those letters. Today the number would be written as 66-4643.
