Post subject: Searching for Kozlowski family information
Would like to find info about
stefan Kozlowski born 15/9/1895 died 13/5/1982 his brother went to USA
married to zofia born 15/11/2005 died 5/4/88 may have lived in Balula
They settled in chomiaza after the war. They had 4 children who survived the war - Mietek, Janek, Vinzek and Anchca - others died in Russia
we have been told that the surname Kozlowski may have been changed and it may have originally been Kulevich?
Their son Janek joined polish Army/airforce? and settled in England in a village called stonebroom, married English woman Annie Selina Kerry
I would be grateful for any help with this.

Where did you find a place named Balula?
What is the name of the brother who "went to the USA"
Zofia's dates seems to be incorrect.

Thanks for your reply, this information has been given by my dad who is now 87 , he thought his mum was born there, also I took her information from the gravestone in the cemetery in Glubcyce from her gravestone, the date of birth should read 15/11/1905, I have visited Poland quite a few times recently but because all of my relations are elderly they have little information for me and I don't speak fluent Polish so details get lost in translation so we have little to go on.
Thankyou for your reply any information would be great.

Post subject: Kozlowski
Hello, My name is Timothy Koloski and I am searching for information about my Grandfather Joseph Koloski who immigrated to the USA around 1913. He was born in Mazowieckie province Poland about 1889. we know he changed his last name but i'm not sure of the original spelling. I'm quite sure that he had left behind his mother and another brother.
If anyone has any information that might help in my search it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I am sorry I don't have any details of my grandfathers brothers name, but I am trying to contact my aunt in Poland to see if she can remember any details, if I get any information I will let you know, I think my father was born in Piorki? But once again these details are sketchy I wish we had asked questions years ago!!

Hi! My father owned his own Plumbing & Heating business in New Kenington, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. One of his workers was a man named Eddie Koslowski. He lived in the same town. I have a photo of him holding a toddler boy on his lap behind the desk of the office of the Plumbing store. I don't know anything about him other than what I mentioned above. I asked my mom about him and the photo. she just doesn't remember, but thinks that Eddie Koslowski did have children.
Perhaps you could find him in the Polk's City Directory for New Kensington & Arnold. The time frame for the photo was between 1948-1952. Also, the church records might help. The Polish Catholic Church in my home town of New Kensington was called St. Mary of Czestochowa Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, PA 15068

Probably Balule, now Baliuliai, Lithuania, about 50 km NE of Wiłno/Vilnius.
In 1938, woj. Wilno, powiat Święciany, gmina Podbrodzie, parish Powiewiórka (lit. Pavoverė). Pilsudski was baptized in this parish.
http://www.mapywig.org/m/WIG_maps/series/300K/37_WILNO_1930.jpg
Balule is at the very top, at 25 deg. 59 min E and 54 deg, 59 min N, next to the rail line. After WWII most Poles were resettled in Poland. Chomiaza is in the resettlement area.
A few old LDS records are available:
