Wilantewicz/Wilantowicz moved around Lubowidz,Zuromin, Klukowo and Pomiechowo. Raciaz possible an origin of them all which was Gilberto Magroski's assumption as several documentations were found in this general area. Is this an old Polish name or Russian; were these ancestors here in the 1600----1700's ? What does the name mean ?

Stephen,

Wilantewicz - od niemieckiej nazwy osobowej Wieland, ta od germańskiego vël ‘kowal, kuć’.

From what I understand, it says "from the german word Wieland, which is equivalent to the polish word Kowal", that is, a blacksmith.
