Post subject: Origin of Michalkiewicz surname
I have been told that Michalkiewicz means the the "son of Michael" is this correct? Would the be pronounced Mee-How- Kay-Vich? _________________ Litwo! Ojczyzno moja! ty jesteś jak zdrowie;

Michałkiewicz - 1774 od imienia Michał. Imię biblijne, pochodzące od hebrajskiego mikha’el ‘któż jest jak Bóg’, w Polsce notowane od XII wieku. Obok postaci spolonizowanej Michał, występują formy łacińskie Michael, Michachel, na Kresach Wschodnich Michaił.
