I have found this book today, available for free online on Google books:

After the quick look through it looks very interesting. Especially for those of you who have their roots in former Austrian partition: Galicia.

Maybe someone has already read it? Is it worth recommending?

I will share with you my opinion when I will finish reading.

Great book. Sadly, I have had the book for over a year and have only gotten about half way through it. This is not a reflection on the book but my inability to make time to read.

It is not your typical history book. It gives you the perspective of different people in various walks of like... politicians, artists, police, nobility, city/country dwellers, etc. Very enlightening. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about the events that affected the lives of our ancestors.
