I have been out of genealogy for a few years and decided to research my Truchan side again. They immigrated to the U.S. (Michigan) from Suwalki. My grandfather was Antoni Truchan b. 1886, and he was married to Marianna Makarewicz. I did find a record of his passage in 1906. I can find no record of when Marianna came over nor have I been able to find any information on her family. His parents were Piotr and Pauline (Sovulowski) Truchan. Antoni also had 2 brothers, Frank (Marcella Klimajtis) and Jozef(Jozefa ?). I did not find out about Jozef until I was a teenager. My Grandfather would not allow anyone to speak of him. Pauline Sovulowski had one brother, Stanley Sovulowski that I knew of that settled in Saginaw, MI and was married to a Franczeska (?). If anyone has any information or, can send me in the right direction, I'd be thankful.

Have you explored the name Sovulewski also? One of the earliest park rangers at Yosemite national park was Gabriel Sovulewski who was born in Suwalki in 1866. He died in California in the 1930's. If you have not already explored this, his death certificate may have his parents names or other clues that may link him to your family.

I have an Antoni Truchon in my family. He was married to Anna Bienias from Krauszow, Poland. I can only assume that Antoni was married to Anna Bienias in Krauszow, Poland. Antoni was born April 15, 1871 in Poland. Antoni Truchon died on October 18, 1909. His death certificate says that John Truchon was his father and Katherina was his mother. He is buried at Stanislaus Cemetery in Buffalo, Erie, New York.
