Post subject: Looking for Todorowski in Poland
I have just discovered that a family related to me left the village of Maidonys (Majdany), which is near Trakai, Lithuania (once a Polish area), in 1946, and went to Poland. I have no idea where they went in Poland.
The family is Piotr Todorowski (b.1888), and Helena Michalowska (married 1915) and their son Francyszek (b. 1921) and his wife, Anna. There may also have been a Edward Todorowski.
Piotr's parents were Piotr Todorowski and Marcianna Harnatkiewicz, from the Maidonys/Brazuole/Stara Buda areas near Trakai.
Piotr's younger siblings were Wincenty, Anna, Rozalia and Jadwyga. Anna and Rozalia left for the USA in 1913.
Is there a list of people who came to Poland from that area after WWII? If there is, where can I find it? Can anyone give me a clue as to how I would go about looking for this family. All of my research up to now has been in Lithuania, so Poland is a whole new search area
for me.
Also, if anyone needs info on the area around Trakai, Lithuania, I am willing to tell you what I know.
Thank you all in advance,
Trishsa : )
