Hello,

Frame of time for her birth?
Married to Jozef in Poland or elsewhere?
Frame of time for his birth?

Martha's birth record:

kurlykate1~ You haven't given us much to go on (sort of like looking for a needle in a field full of haystacks - we need to figure out which haystack to look in). Gilberto is asking you for any further info you can provide about your grandparents. Have you looked at census records on Ancestry.com or used familysearch.org? Do you have an approximate year when either of them might have been born (e.g. death date minus age from an obituary, gravestone, etc.). Did they marry in the U.S.? Where did they live in the U.S.? Did they apply for citizenship? The documents for these life events might hold clues as to where they were from in Poland which then might lead to possible Polish resources - possibly online scans of documents or online indexes to records or to microfilm for records of the appropriate villages (which can be borrowed from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City).

Apparently he found a birth record for a Martha with either the Pankiewicz or Krasowski surname which looks to be perhaps from the Russian partition area of Poland. ~PL

I don't know if they married in the USA. Joseph died in Chicago Illinois in 1942. He was 61 yrs old so he was probably born in poland about 1881. He had a brother named Frank. I think he was born in Lanowa, poland. His first son walter was born in Chicago in 1911. So, he had to arrive in America before that date. He was married to Pauline Pankiewicz. She died in Chicago in 1952. I know Pauline did not arrive to Usa on Ellis Island. I could not come up with a marriage certificate for Jozef/Joseph an Pauline Pankiewicz. If they married in Poland, they must have lived in close proximity to each other. Gilbert i really am appreciative for your help. Gods blessings tomyou in 2015 .
