Hi there. This is my first post on this forum. I am helping my mother-in-law on a quest for information about her grandparents in Poland. We know that their names were Jacob Kaczor and Barbara Swider and they came from Klikuszowa near Nowy Targ. They would have been born sometime around the 1860's. They had nine children together that we know of. Most of their children emigrated to the U.S., but most died relatively young so not many stories were passed on. Any hints or tips for how to proceed to find birth / marriage / death records in Poland would be most appreciated!

Two Kaczors from the village Klikuszowa arrived in the US in 1921. Their last residence abroad was with their mother Barbara Kaczor in Klikusowa. They were headed to Chicago to join their brother-in-law Johan Cieninch at 1107 Cornell Street:
Kaczor,Karolina, Klikuszowa, Age 24
Kaczor,Katarzyna, Klikuszowa, Age 22
Did your family settle in Chicago?

Yes, Karolina is my wife's grandmother and Katarzyna is her great-aunt. The challenge for me is trying to find more information about Barbara (Swider) Kazor and Jacob Kaczor back in Poland. I've just about exhausted all the resources on the U.S. side, but I'm new to navigating the Polish records. Any help would be most appreciated! I'm amazed at the resources this community has.

You may already have seen this, but in case you haven't, PGSA has a description of the village Klikuszowa at
http://www.pgsa.org/Towns/townsk.php#Klikuszowa

The article says: "... There is a wooden Roman Catholic church built in 1753 named for St. Martin the Bishop; the parish is affiliated with Nowy Targ. The records of the church started in 1786. A new concrete church was built in 1878. The villages belonging to the parish are Lasek, Morawczyna, Obidowa, and Pyzowka. ..."

Klikuszowa St. Martin parish (Klikuszowa Parafia św. Marcina]:

http://www.diecezja.pl/parafie/lista-parafii/32-nowy-targ/parafia-sw-marcina.html

Some information on how to write to a Polish parish for information you'll find here:
