Reply with quote

I found a Chicago church marriage record that has a note on the side written in Polish that I cannot read. Can somebody please tell me what it says?
I'm interested in finding out what it says because in this record the bride, Catharina Matea, daughter of Jan Canti Matea and Agnes Las, is getting married to Jan Klikuszewski on Sep 5, 1904. However, it seems as if on Sep 19, 1904 the same woman, Catharina Matea, daughter of Jan Canti Matea and Agnes Las, is getting married to Wincenty Fudala. I'm puzzled ...

Ute,

It says:

Ten slub nie byl dany z powodu tego ze Jan Klikuszewski umarl dwa dni przed slubem (signature)
//
This marriage did not happen [was not given] because Jan Klikuszewski died two days before the wedding (signature)

Best,
Elzbieta
