Post subject: "Mysterious beginnings of the Poland"
For those people that apart from regular genealogy tasks like to know some about history of the place, i provide link to the video "Wyspa władców" about Ostrów Lednicki, important place for first Polish kings. Video contains information about the island and the chapel that was build on it. Probably here was performed the "Babtism of Poland". Later in the movie is about uncommon visitation of Otton III king of the Holy Roman Empire and gives a hint about importance of the Poland country.
This video is a part of great and popular documental series "Tajemnice początków Polski" by Zdzisław Cozac about mysterious Poland beginnings. It's still unclear the exact way how Poland was established. It has been taking under consideration that first polish king family - Piastowie were Vikings (Sweden) and they founded Poland, similar how Kievan Ruś (Kievan Ruthenia) has been established. But today scientists believe otherwise, that Piastowie were Slavs, and maybe come from Chech area. Their origins are still under research.
Video Wyspa władców is here with English lector but dont know if is blocked when viewed from outside Poland.
