Can anyone help me locate any or all of my ancestors siblings in the indexes here? ( My ancestor was Stanislaw Maluchnik born October 26, 1892, however the 1892 records do not appear to be online http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/ar17-zs0635d ) His brother is Antoni Maluchnik born March, 24, 1885. I cannot find him in the index here: http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1885&kt=1&plik=SkU-3.jpg#zoom=1&x=1193&y=2475

I know the records are organized via the Russian alphabet, so that means my ancestors brother should be listed between number 55-71, if I am reading it correctly. I cannot make out most of the surnames, but none look to be Maluchnik even written in russian, as none look similar to the writing I found of Maluchnik in russian on this page here: http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1888&kt=1&plik=SkU-1.jpg#zoom=1&x=930&y=1899

I know my ancestor also had another brother August Maluchnik born December 25, 1882, (should be somewhere between records 43-56 here: http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1882&kt=1&plik=SkU-1.jpg#zoom=1&x=856&y=2644 ) and a sister Maryanna Maluchnik born January 10, 1894 (should be in records 66-93?....paper of index is faded, 68 on index looks like it could be it, however when I go to the actual record I cannot read the russian to tell http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1894&kt=1&plik=SkU-2.jpg#zoom=1&x=203&y=629 ).

There is also a sister Alexandra Maluchnik born in possibly 1889 or 1890 that I would really like to locate a birth record for, as she is traveling on the boat with my August and they are heading from father Frank Maluchnik. (So I think my Maluchnik's may be half brothers, this would not be out of the ordinary as my great grandmother Margaret Lewandowski married Stanley Maluchnik after Anthony Maluchnik died. )

One record that somebody did help me locate before is this record: http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1888&kt=1&plik=045-046.jpg#zoom=1&x=672&y=99 However I do not know of any brother named Jan and the mothers maiden name is wrong. According to the marriage certificate of Stanley's his parents names are Antoni Maluchnik and Karolina Krosky, not Napalowska. I tried to inquire more from the person who found it, but unfortunatly their english was limited. If anybody could help me out that would be great. I really need at least one birth record of a known sibling of my ancestors to prove those are in fact his parents and that mother maiden name is, for whatever reason wrong on the marriage licence I have. Also, I can post the actual record over in the russian translations topic, if you don't want to translate it.

Hi,

It is a partial answer.

The record number is not 68, but 11 - 68 is the counter of lines/records.

Your Maluchnik is here:
http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1894&kt=1&plik=011-012.jpg#zoom=1.75&x=205&y=245

Best,
Elzbieta

Thank you so much! That definitely looks like mine. I will have to post it over in the russian translations forum. It looks to me like it has name Julian Maluchnik (for father?), which is quite bizarre because I have an obituary stating this Maryanna Maluchnik is my Stanley's sister, and his marriage and ship arrival records both have his father as Anton Maluchnik. To complicate matters further, the brother whose obituary it was had a father of Frank Maluchnik according to ship arrival records. I know I am not mistaking different Maluchnik's on the arrival records as they are all heading to each other or to a city I know they lived in (plus age, etc matches, as well I have Maryanna's birthdate from her marriage license, and I know for a fact it's the one in the obituary mentioned with mine, as it mentions her by her married surname.) I'll probably have to start another topic if the birth date matches my Maryanna Maluchnik's and ends up having the father as Julian Maluchnik.

Re: year 1885

At the end of alphabetical index (not within "M" letter), there is a last entry with Maluchnik, line 138, record number 68, Cyrillic title says "Usynowienie Franza (Franciszka) Michala Maluchnika", recognition of the son Franz (Franciszek) Michal Maluchnik.
http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1885&kt=1&plik=SkU-5.jpg#zoom=1.75&x=85&y=2057
That record is very long, 2 pages, and refers to a soldier. Please ask on Russian translations, it is of interest to know precisely.

Number 68 starts here:
http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=17&zs=0635d&sy=1885&kt=1&plik=067-068.jpg#zoom=1&x=1410&y=502

Best,
Elzbieta

NOTE: My advice is to always check the end of alphabetical index.

Thank you, I will ask there. That is very odd...so no Antoni, yet a Franz. Thank you for the tip. I will check the ends of the other indexes too.
