Post subject: Re: Woyciech Rzeszotarski 1821 Death
| mestanton wrote: | Elzbieta,
Please transcribe and translate this Rosciszewo parish 1821 death record of Woyciech Rzeszotarski who lived in Rzeszotary-Chwaly. With my limited ability to read Polish I think it may say that the deceased Woyjciech is "brat" or brother of Maciej, my ancestor. I appreciate your translating the record to confirm the relationship and provide additional details about the widow and parents.
This is another record on Geneteka where the SKAN link in the death search results for Rzeszotarski in Rosciszewo parish does not lead to the 1821 record. I was able to go to the records for 1821-1822 to 50/391/0/-16 in scan 24.jpg to find the record.

Thank you, Elzbieta, for translating a key piece of information about my ancestor Maciej and the identity of his brother Woyciech, who in another translation that you did for me was identified as the uncle of the deceased little boy of Maciej. In addition, now I have learned the names of their parents, too. I am very grateful for this insight into a previous generation.
Does the translation of "on the farm" for both the deceased and his parents mean that they were just living on a farm, leasing the farm, or owning the farm? Can you tell? It sounds like although they were well-born, they still worked as farmers.
