Oh no! Was it a legitimate link to your inbox, or did it go somewhere else?
Is there anything else that you are willing to tell us about the scam email so we can protect ourselves?
thanks,
Shellie

I am sure that Zenon is going to be very upset when he reads your post and he'll do everything he can to help fix this.
I feel so bad that this happened to you and I hope that you won't leave Polish Origins because of it. There are so many nice people here and we (most of us) are on this site to learn from and help others.

I apologize very much everyone who received this scam from one of registered user within the last few hours. He (or she) is no longer on the memberlist.
Our Forum is procteced from scam generated by machines but if there is a person who just wants to pretend to be interested in our Polish genealogy topics he or she can deceive system by providing false information. We can't verify intentions of everyone who registers.
I apologize again and we will continue to monitor the Forum and when only anyone of you will notice such behavior please notify as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

I received a private message from the above [email protected] stating she had something important to share with me. I haven't heard back.
Do you think this is a scam or real?

I recieved the same message this morning, I deleted it. I had a person try to scam me last year and pretend to be a long lost family member from Poland, I even was sent a picture. To make a long story short it was very hurtful to find out it was a scam... _________________ Searching for my roots.

Same for me. What a horror story when we all just want to find family. May you receive what you give out to people in the world-Susan. Bad times.

I received the same Sussan Edwards e-mail, no big surprise in this day and age, this is to be expected. I for one will not leave the group. I would suggest an e-mail be sent from the PolishOrigins Forum Team, informing users of this spam so they do not reply to this e-mail, providing their addresses. Much more proactive and appropriate, instead of having to look it up on this forum. Best regards to all.

I also received an email from Sussan Edwards. My sons work in the computer industry and are constantly reminding me about scam emails. A timely reminder to others perhaps to check their anti virus programmes are working? I didn't reply to the email address as I thought she might send me a virus in a return email! I think it was a horrible thing to do as like so many other people, I thought for a moment that a family member had found me and would provide me with information I so desperately want!
