Are there any books or information on emigration to Australia around 1840 to 1850. My family named Rosner/Roesner/Resener left Steinsiefersdorf during that time.

When I started researching my Polish ancestors many years ago I didn't know yet that official records are often incorrect regarding spelling of names and locations and that they should be interpreted with this in mind. Like many of us, I struggled with misspelled, distorted, and incomplete given, family, and place names in genealogical records for years until I finally found out that my paternal grandfather's parents came from the villages Dlugopole and Banska in the district of Nowy Targ. _________________ rania

Can you tell me which port they arrived - Vic, Nsw, etc? I could try to find some information for you.
