Post subject: Elzbieta I think I might hoave found Birze
Elzbieta,
I am writing you and sending you this map from the WIG archive of Polish army maps, because I think I might have found the Birze(Berze) mentioned in Izydor's Birth/baptism record discussed here:
http://polishorigins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=25241
I might be wrong but if you look at this map i already found the villages some of the other siblings were born such as Rymincie, Sznipancie, Werbiliszki, and just to the south south west of Szrwinty is the village of Berze (not the same spelling but fairly close to other siblings). It is in the lower left part of the map fairly close to the bottom edge. Please tell me what you think?

Hugh,
You are right. This Berże on P28_S40 map, very close to Szyrwinty, is the one from the record.
The record is not easy to read, I deciphered Birże, but the letter after uppercase B can be "e" as well. There is much more logic near Szyrwinty that in my desperate search for Birże in the old geography book.
I am glad you found it.
Best,
Elzbieta

Post subject: Thanks Elzbieta
I guess even the novices find something every once in a while . Glad you could verify that this would be the place mentioned in record. Still it's funny that there's no trace of Izydor Jr. other than that birth record. He never got married in the parish. He isn't listed in the death register for the parish, or the marriage register either (that could be because he moved) but the real strange one was the fact that he was not mentioned as surviving children in either his father Izydor Sr's Death record (1841 translated by you) or Kunegunda's death record (1847: translated by you).
So mysteries I guess just remain unsolved. One last question if you would be so kind. Why does it seem babies were all born in different little hamlets and not the same village?? Was it the midwife situation or because of class they might have had more than one dwelling?
Probably not something that can be answered but figured I'd throw it out.
