Post subject: Kluska Family
Wojciech (Albert) Kluska married Anna Syymczyk. Albert was born in Poland and Anna I believe in Austria but both lived in Poland. They had 7 children. Albert arrived first then Anna with children. They all lived in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York. Alberts parents I have as Kasmir Kluska and Magdalina Yaniski which lived in Poland. I have some info on this family after arrival but any going pack to Poland would be very much appreciated. I'm happy to share info.

Hi,
From what I read in the manifest, Wojciech declared his birthplace as
Czchów
siedziba gminy
2239 osób
woj. małopolskie
pow. brzeski
gmina Czchów
kod: 32-860
The word Neu Sandec is, actually, the misspelling of Neusandez which is now Nowy Sacz. Both places were Galicia, Austria, by then.
Anna and children were coming from Nowy Sacz. Oldest children, Maria, was born there. Here is her birth record:
http://szukajwarchiwach.pl/31/488/0/-/2/skan/full/Xl3zPAP0eCebkoniQ2UPWA
Wojciech's parents were Kazimierz and Magdalena Janicka
Anna's parents were Jan and Zofia Sromck (?)
Maria's godparents were Wojciech Wróbel and Maria (Jan Szymczyk's wife)
Midwife was Maria Kzonca ? and priest was Adam Warszewski

I sorry you didn't get it. I thanked you very much for your time and great information! It's kind people like you that make doing Genealogy fun and the world a better place.
I had a few questions...
You said Anna's parents were Jan and Zofia Sromck(?) and that Marias godparents were Wojciech Wrobel and Maria (Jan Szymczyk's wife).
How can Jan be married to Zofia and Maria? maybe Zofia or Jan is a Step-mother?
I have Wojciech and Anna Kluska children as:
Born in Poland/Austria:
Mary – 1899
Rose - 1903
William – 1905
Michael – 1908
Born in U.S.A.
Josephine – 1912
John – 1914
Peter- 1917
Agnes – 1910 (Am looking into if Adopted... Could have been born in Poland) She is not listed on the ships passenger list.
I have that Albert came to America first on a ship called the “Amerika” in 1906.......then a few years later, Anna with the children. Anna and kids on the ship names “Pennsylvania” in 1910
Using Google translator for all the searching is not that easy. Should you ever see anything else on any ofthe family, please let me know.
Thanks again!

Do you think the Kluska family is related to the Kuska family of Piotrowice?

I really don't know. All my U.S. Research just indicates Poland or Austria and as for the name, I've just seen Kluska on official documents and various spelling on other documents. I'm just now getting from the U.S. In research to research in Poland..They could be but I've no connection information there yet.

You are welcome.
In order to clarify the informatin about the godparents let me suggest you to post that link on Latin Records Translation on this forum Our expert Dave Nowicki will surely provide you more accurate information.
The children I see listed with Anna are Maria (ok), then Ludwik (b. 1905), Michal (b.1906) and Wiktor (b. not informed).
Those figures on the side of their names indicate they naturalized. Check http://www.jewishgen.org/InfoFiles/Manifests/occ/
