Your response to #55 was baptized with the name Czeslaw.
Czeslaw came June 30, 1905. On the passenger manifest Czeslaw last residence was Sierpec. Czeslaw married Maryanna Kosmaczynski who was born in 1884.

So, Czesław has been living in my town, now the city name is Sierpc Smile

Please be so kind as to translate this ancestor's death record #102 from Chełmica parish. The original scan seems to be blurred after the 4th line, so perhaps you will need the 1872 genealogia w archiwach information: 71/190/0/60, page 46.

Thank you, marcelproust, for helping me find my ancestors.

Thank you for a very prompt response. Yes, this is my ancestor Maryanna Sobolewska Wesołowska. From their marriage record of 12 Oct 1831 (Mylakowo in Ligowo parish) that I had transcribed years ago, I have her parents as Mateusz and Maryanna and her place of birth twenty years before the marriage as Kłobukowo in Bądkowo Kościelne parish. There is a neighboring village of Cieślin. Do any of these villages make sense with your possibility of Choczen?

Could you tell me what the word is between her mother Maryanna's first name and Sobolewska? I was hoping that it was her mother's maiden name. It starts with Cynpy?zb??

The place Bednarka is a mystery since the one that I found is quite distant from the parish at Chełmica-Duza and Radomice where they lived. Perhaps my map does not give enough detail to find it.

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could translate a death of Wojciech Rzeszotarski from 1875. I'm trying to see if his parents match other Rzeszotarski's I've found. It's #5.
Thanks
John

Marilyn & Marcel,

The attached map shows both Bednarka and Chelmica Duza/Wielka and Bednarka was certainly within walking distance of Chelmina. Is it possible that Choczen is a Cyrillic transliteration of Chocen? If so, the village and parish of Chocen is about 32 km south of Chelmica Duza and in 19th Century Russian Poland it was not unusual for families to have moved around farther than that in the course of 60 years in search of work.

Wishing you success in your quest,

Dave

I have made a phone call to Chełmica parish and i spoke with the priest. i asked about Bednarka. He said to me that this name Bednarka is more historic name, now this place is called Lisek.
In Geographical Dictionary of the Kingdom of Poland there is mentioned place Bednarka as a village in Lipno county, Szpetal community, Chełmica parish.
On the internet site of Chełmica parish there is a note that Bednarka is one of the places belonged to Chełmice parish.
I have also attached google map with marked place Bednarka.

It is not the surname, it is a word супругов which means spouses. There is no mentioned maiden name of Maryanna.
Mateusz and Maryanna spouses Sobolewscy.
