Hi, Jeff
I suppose there is not written BAYER but Beyersdorf there. 'Dorf' in German means 'village'.
It is probably a village somewhere in Saxony (Sachsen).

Post subject: familiy member in Polish military (?) uniform
I have a picture of my grandfather's family. One family member appears to be wearing a military uniform. I believe the photo was taken circa 1920. The family was from the Dabrowa-Gornicza area. I would be grateful to anyone that can help identify the uniform.
Thank you
Dave

Here is a picture of my great grandfather, John Saluk. Any input regarding the uniform would be welcome. I've been told it's Romanian, but I have no idea why that might be so!

Here is a military photo. The young man in the upper right seems to be marked. I'm not sure who they are or what year. I am also attaching what was written on the back. Maybe someone can translate? Thanks! Melanie

I don't know who this man is, but his photo was passed down generation to generation along with a few other prized photos that made a long journey to the United States. I think it is an Austro-Hungarian uniform and I know the picture was pre-1906 as it was taken before the family left Boryslaw. The back had been damaged, but I believe the name Stanislaus is on the left hand corner.
