Post subject: Are scans from Mlawa archives available anywhere online?
Hello all,
I was using AP Mława scans for several parishes at http://poczekalnia.genealodzy.pl/pliki/. It looks like they have been taken down. Maybe that is because the indexing is all done (?). The scans are not yet linked at Geneteka, although probably they will be eventually.
In the meantime, is there any chance they may be available elsewhere? I looked at the AP website but didn't see them there (admittedly my Polish may not have been good enough).
Other than that, if any of you have the Joniec scans, would you be willing to share a few original records here and there? I have some of them, and also some Królewo, Szreńsk, Opinogóra, and Ciechanów.
Thanks and regards to all,
Tonya

Tonya,
The website that you use is called "poczekalnia" - "the waiting room" and this is the site were are published scans waiting to be developed and recorded in main project: Metryki.
Please check now on website: http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/?lang=eng.
Good luck with your research!

Aga,
Still, some years disappeared from Poczekalnia and didn't show up in Metryki. I remeber to have seen records for Kuklin up to 1894 and now all they show is up to 1858. Where did they put the rest of the years, is something I would like to know.

Also, the move to Metryki from Poczekalnia doesn't necessarily mean all records have already been indexed, so it's still important to look at the index dates on the Geneteka Baza search results to see what years are included. Example: Joniec parish (Płońsk) births and deaths for mid-to-late 1800s have scans that are now at Metryki but awaiting indexing.

Zenon, thank you so much for the great info. I have been using these heavily and am so glad they are still out there. Quick question for you: are the older "Summariusz" registers the only records for that time period or are they a summary of older books from the 1600s and 1700s that are not scanned? If the original records had more info I was thinking of visiting the archive next time I am in Poland. If you do not know offhand, I will of course contact the archive and ask.
Many thanks,
Tonya

Tonya,
From my experience in searching other parishes in the area, both being in the archives physically as well as researching scans on-line, the older "Summariuszes" are the only available documents in the archives. And most often the scans in metryki.genbaza.pl are all documents available in the archives for given parish. However, I have also learned that for each case, for each parish, we should always make sure if there is any other possible documentation available either in this given archive or in any other location.
Wesolych Swiat!
