While researching the little I could, I noticed there are at least two, maybe three "Popowo" villages near Lipno. While both Adam and his mother, Aniela, came to the USA, his father (her husband), Jan Smolinski, died in Poland, presumably in Lipno or Popowo. I am trying to guess where he may be buried, but the multiple Popowo's confuse me. Is there anyone here who is knowledgeable about these villages? Thank you. |

Appeared Michal Smolinski, 55, and Antoni Smolinski, 60, both farmers from Popowo, and declared that on 18/30 January of the current year at 7:00 AM died in Popowo JAN SMOLINSKI, farmer, age 47, son of Franciszek and Jozefa nee Chojnacka Smolinski, legal marriage, born and residing in Popowo. He leaves behind his widowed wife Aniela Smolinska. Death of Jan Smolinski confirmed by eyewitnesses. This act read to the illiterate witnesses and signed only by me. Rector of Chelmica parish. Fr.
