My Jewish grandparents come from Semiatice (left in 1921). We will be visiting the town in August. Does anyone know whether any Jewish population remains or whether there would be someone there to help us (if we provide the translator)? Thanks

Michael,

You can try to get a contact through this website http://www.sztetl.org.pl/ . People there know local historians who could help you during your visit in Siemiatycze.

You can also contact local library in Siemiatycze. This is their FB website: https://web.facebook.com/biblioteka.siemiatycze .

Good luck!
