Hello,
Could someone please translate the attached marriage record? It is the second listing on the record, and I believe No 7. I think it is in German and my 3rd gr grandfather's second marriage. Bthe previous record I had translated here for Michael Renn records was from the same village in Czerniejewo. Also there are two columns on the right side page, one with a mark the other with writing. Can you also please advise what those columns and note say?

Thanks and kind regards,
Vicky

Hello Vicky,

The marriage record is in German. The text on the left side is:

den 23ten April [1819] Renn Michael, Tuchmacher in Czerniejewo ein Wittwer,
mit Anna Rosina Wendlanden, verwittwete Pfeiffern,
des weyl: [weiland; this word was also used in the marriage record of 1803 for Valentin Renn] Michael Pfeiffer gewesenen Schulhalters in Dracho-
wo hinterlassene Witwe.

April 23 [1819] - Renn Michael, clothmaker in Czerniejewo a widower, with Anna Rosina Wendland, widowed Pfeiffer, the left behind widow of the deceased Michael Pfeiffer, who was Schulhalter [a “Schulhalter” was a person who teached to read and to write on primary school level in his own flat] in Drachowo.

The right side is basically for statistical purposes and the columns differentiate between: military personnel (Militär) / bachelor with virgin (Junggeselle mit Jungfrau) / bachelor with widow below 45 years (Junggeselle mit Witwe unter 45 Jahren) / bachelor with widow above 45 years (Junggeselle mit Witwe über 45 Jahren) and so on. The last column gives the age (Alter) of groom (Bräutigam): 40 years and bride (Braut): 32 years. As the two were widowed this is indicated in the column “widower with widow below 45 years” (Witwer mit Witwe unter 45 Jahren).

Best regards,

Michael

Hello Tom,

The German version of the last section is:

Eingetragen auf mündliche – [crossed out] schriftliche – Anzeige des Sohnes des
Verstorbenen Romann Sztamburski.
Der Anzeigende ist dem Standesbeamten nicht be-
kannt. Er erklärte, bei dem Sterbefall zugegen
gewesen zu sein.
Vorgelesen, genehmigt und unterschrieben
Sztamburski Roman

The English one:

Registered on verbal notification of the son of the deceased Romann Sztamburski.
The notifier is not known to the civil registrar. He declared he was present at the death.
Read aloud, approved und signed.
Sztamburski Roman

Best regards

Michael

This is re the 1884 marriage record of my grand uncle-Franz Podsiadłowski, Wielki Leck. German to English please.

The blurb from a German book referencing the village of Bonkowo is from the chapter on “Abgestorbener preussischer Adel” (Extinct Prussian Nobility) and refers to the family Sokowski. It says: "There is no further reference about this family in the literature. Until 1772 a family member owned Gut Bruch near Marienburg and also the village Bonokowo in Masovia. Now extinct there. See under Bentkowski for a coat of arms description."

A complete online version of an earlier edition of this book (J. Siebmacher's grosses und allgemeines Wappenbuch) is available; this link refers directly to the page you cited (the text did not change over the years):

Would greatly appreciate a translation of this document, in German, which I believe may be the marriage record of my g.grandparents...though I am grasping at that hope due to my inability to know with certainty.

Struggling with the Polish records has been challenge enough...now, I'll add German to list!

Thank you so much for your help...it is truly appreciated!
Best,
Joe Gwizdowski
