My Grandfather wrote that He and His wife were both born in Opatha, Poland/Russia about 1879-1880.
So far there is no record of this place..can anyone other an explanation?

Ponownie jestem zadluzony za twoja pomoc. Ale poniewaz jestem utrudniony przez zarowno jezuk, jak i informacje, ktore sa dostepne w internecie,musze zapytac, gdzie moge znalezc informacje, ktore podales juz wczesniej? Chcialbyn rowniez zaptac..czy masz na mysil, ze "Opata" i "Opatha" sa takie same?. Zakladajac, ze wioska optowa juz nie istnieje, zastanawialam sie czy Opatha byl chrzescijanskim odcinkiem tej wsi, poniewaz nie jestem z wiary zydowskiej?

First name which came to my mind was Opatów.

Do you have any document where this name is recorded?
