Stephen,
The Milwaukee County Historical Society has Naturalization Records that spans a time frame of 1836 to May 1941. This includes the Naturalization Requests. The Historical Society may also have other documents in its possession as this was prior to when the Federal Government took possession of the records for Naturalization.

If the County does not have the paperwork you seek you can request the documents through the Genealogy Department of the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) here:

Keep in mind any requests through the USCIS often take a great deal of time but the payoff is worth it.

Post subject: USA Petition for Naturalization - Follow-up
Great suggestions for searching petitions. Thank you!! I had already checked with Milw. Historical Society so submitted inquiries to USCIS. I have many docs with Austria/Poland, Galicia, but no actual town.

Post subject: Suggestions for Next Step
I have found several U.S. documents (census, birth, death, marriage) showing place of birth: Poland, Austria/Poland, Galicia, Prussia, Germany, but no town. I did order naturalization records for some from USCIS. What should i do next? Is there a way to research this information and come-up with a pattern (similar place) of where they're from, or should I expect ancestors to be from all of these places?
