Post subject: Mazowsze will sing in Vatican today!
This year in Vatican they will be listening Polish Christmas carols, as Mazowsze choir will sing during Pope mass today.
Listen one of the most popular Polish carol: "Bóg się rodzi", with lyrics written by Franciszek Karpiński in 1792. Its stately melody is traditionally known to be a coronation polonaise for Polish Kings dating back as far as during the reign of Stefan Batory in the 16th century (from Wikipedia).
It has been called "One of the most beloved Polish Christmas carols".
My favorites have always been Dzisiaj w Betlejem, and Gdy sie Christus rodzi. It's Christmas morning here, and
I am enjoying listening to Polish carols.
This year I would like to recommend you something more contemporary: kolędy composed by Zbigniew Preisner, a Polish film score composer, best known for his work with film director Krzysztof Kieślowski. He recorded very popular CD with Christmas songs in 2000 - "Moje kolędy na koniec wieku" ("My carols for the end of the century") and this year the album has been remastered with some more pieces added.
I hope that you will enjoy this! It is something very, very Polish style

Post subject: O Holy Night
As the thread title suggests, "O Holy Night" is my favorite Christmas carol. In fact, I have an "O Holy Night" playlist on my phone, which is now up to 2 hours long. My favorite version is this one, by Josh Groban: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQWXfHzOKUU
Can anyone recommend to me their favorite Polish version of "O Święta Noc "? I'm always looking to add to my playlist! Wesołych świąt, everybody!
