Hello! Smile I was going through a box today and came across a picture with polish writing on the back. The cursive is kind of hard to make out so it’s difficult to type into a translation . Where would be a place to have them translated?

Hello,

I found the attached marriage record, and was wondering if I could get it translated. I believe it is the marriage record of my 2nd Great Grandparents. The link to the record is: http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryka.php?ar=13&zs=0633d&sy=1858&kt=2&plik=005-007.jpg#zoom=1&x=213&y=1754

I am also attaching a copy of the record. Thank you for your assistance, it is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Chuck

Thank your for the Stanislaw Bykowski birth. It will be interesting to see how the other two documents relate in details. Happy new year.

I was able to read pretty much all of this record, but a few words are giving me trouble (underlined in red). Also, the sentence toward the bottom, I *think* I know what it says, but I'm not 100% sure I have it right. Thank you so much for any help! Smile

4. It came to pass on the first day of February in the year of one thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven, at the hour of ten before noon, in the Village of Wilczygora.

We make known that today, in the presence of witnesses Michal Ulenski, thirty-seven years of age, and Jan Candr, thirty-six years of age, a tenant farmer, both residing in Olendry Podryn and being guardians over the undermentioned Stanislaw Gwiazdzinski, as well as Karol Ryzkowski, a miller, thirty-one years of age, and Filip Morzykowski, a blacksmith, twenty-three years of age, both residing in the Town of Skolsk and being friends of the undermentioned Maryanna Lamp, the religious matrimony has been entered into by Stanislaw Gwiazdzinski, a youth, a tenant farmer residing in Olendry Podryn, of the Catholic denomination, born in Olendry Podryn from the Gwiazdzinskis, namely, from the not alive anymore married couple Szymon and Jozefa nee Lisiecki, the tenant farmers residing there, twenty-one years of age, and the maiden Maryanna, the daughter of the Lamps, namely, of the married couple Bogumil and Rozalya, the tenants of pustkowie* Ostrowek, residing there beside her parents, of the Catholic denomination, twenty-three years of age. The said matrimony had been preceded by the triple proclamation of banns in a local Lubotyn Parish, namely on the fifteenth, the twenty-second and the twenty-ninth day of January of the current year, at noon, and by the verbal declaration of consent, both by guardians over the groom and by the mother of the bride who are all witnessing the present certificate. No objections had been raised to contracting the matrimony. The newlyweds declare that they had not made any premarital agreement.

The present certificate was read aloud to the appearers. The newlyweds and the witnesses did not know how to write.

Priest Michal Odorowski (signed), Parish Priest of Wilczygora Parish

NOTES:*The term “pustkowie” probably denotes a solitary farmstead standing amid the farmland away from the village.

This is the earliest record I ever found for the Bogumil Eiswald family. Need this Katarine’s marriage record transcribed fully to further my search for my 2nd great grandfather Krystyan Eiswald’s birth record. So far this Katarine is Krystyan’s older sister and she married Karl Brandenburg. The last birth record I found was for Krystyan’s younger sister Louisa in 1826 making the parents Bogumił Eiswald and Anne Meyer old parents. Based on Krystyan’s marriage record and death record, his estimate birth year was to be between 1816 to 1825.
Transcribed on this long marriage record will be greatly appreciated. Record Number 6

Many thanks in advance!
Rhonda

I am very sorry, I didn’t realize there was a limit on the number of posts.
Did you send me an email about me posting these documents in the wrong place? If you did,can you resend it.
Thank you,

I am trying to solve a mystery here...trying to see if this bride was widowed previously? Groom is Stanislaw Zyznowski, bride is, I think, Marianna Grabowska...but I think Grabowska might be her first husband's name. Also, there are two records on the same page which are the same event? I will add second one after this. I do not need the whole translation, just want to know if it indicates that she was a widow. Thanks.
Thanks.
Christina W.

Hi Christina,

The two documents are both copies of the record of the same marriage.
Maryanna Grabowska had not been previously married. Both copies designate her as “panna”/”miss”.
The bride’s parents were Franciszek & Anna.

Hope this helps.

Dave
