Zajac, Jacenty 1902-35 - dest. brother-in-law Jozef Gal, Kolport, PA

Jacenty Zajac is my 2nd great grandfather His passage in 1902 is listed at the bottom of the list. In 1909,
Mic (Michael?) Fieder (Fiedor) also from Pieniazkowice is going to see his uncle, Jacenty Zajac. So Michael's
mother would be Jacenty's wife's sister or Jacenty' sister. Please respond if you have any information on Michael's
parents. On Michael's passage, the nearest relative he left behind, was his father Wincenty Fieder (Fiedor).

Jacenty Zajac, b 1867 from Pienaskowice, first wife was Malgorzata. His second wife was Agnieska, b about 1856.
Her passage on Ellis Island, Nov 1903, shows she is going to her husband Jacenty Zajac, Lambert, PA (near Uniontown).
Pienaskowice was misspelled on the manifest, so it wasn't caught in the original search. Age 47, passage in 1903.

Also, note Lukasz is going to see father-in-law, Jan Kanty (Jacenty?) Zajac in Lambert, PA. 1909. I know he has 2 daughters and
they did not marry Lukasz Smolen, so I am led to believe he is the son of Jacenty's second wife Agnieska.

Hi Taddys!

I don't have a subscription to MyHeritage, so I was unable to view your tree. Do you have Jan Skupień in your records, married to Regina Brzeźniak? I do not have any further information about him, but I think he might be from Pieniążkowice.

I have a connection in my family tree to Jan Skupień . My ancestor Rosalia Kulawiak, (daughter of Jan Kulawiak and Agnes Figus) born 1835 in Odrowaz Podhalanski, married Michal Skupień, son of Jan Skupień and Regina Brzeźniak. I THINK Michal was born in Pieniążkowice.

I have the following children of Michal Skupień and Rosalia Kulawiak born in Odrowaz:
06 NOV 1870 Andrzej Skupień
24 FEB 1873 Agnieszka Skupień (died 1874)
21 FEB 1875 Maciej Skupień
01 APR 1877 Agnieszka Skupień

Regards,
Shellie

Hi Shellie,

I have 2 records in my tree (direct ancestors) with name Jan. Both don't fit to your tree.

1. my GreatGrandFather, born 1880 in Pieniążkowice, he's left Pieniążkowice and moved to Eastern Borderlands and there settled.
2. my 3xGreatGrandFather, born 1827 in Pieniążkowice, married with Anna maiden Karwaczka.

But...

I've looked into my photos (* disclaimer below) from my last visit in Pieniążkowice and found another Jan. He also born in 1827. Jan son of Adalbert (Wojciech). Your Jan should be older or Michal was younger than Rosalia (she gave birth very late so maybe Michal was second husband?)

Best,
Taddys

*) it doesn't mean that there is no other Jans. During visit I've just focused only on my direct line.

My first post here! I'm amazed at the wealth of information you provide.

My grandmother Aniela Skupien, emigrated to the US from Odrowaz in 1913. Here is what I know for sure:

ANIELA MARY SKUPIEN-CZERMAK (my grandmother)

Birth: 8 Dec 1894
Odrowaz, Austria, Poland GALICIA
Baptism: 11 Dec 1894, Odrowaz, Austria, Poland

Father: Jozef Skupien, b. 1863 Pieniazkowice, Poland, d. Nov 1940 Podole, Poland
Mother: Mary Hosana-Skupien, b. 1874 Odrowaz, Poland, d. May 1962, Podole, Poland
Married: 1893

Maternal Grandfather: (1st name unknown) Hosana, b. 1848, Odrowaz, Poland
Maternal Grandmother: Agnieszka Mikos-Hosana, b. 1852, Odrowaz, Poland
Maternal Aunt: Jostyna Hosana, b. 1876, Odrowaz, Poland

Siblings: Anna, b. 1896, Ordowaz, Poland, d. 1984, Podole, Poland
Jan, b. 1899, Odrowaz, Poland, d. 1964, Podole, Poland
Franciszka, b. 1909, Odrowaz, Poland, d. April 1992, Wielogkowy, Poland
Agnieszka, b. 1911, Odrowaz, Poland, d. Nov 1992, Yastrzebia, Poland

My grandmother married Jozef Czermak who was born November 1889 in Ojcow or Lofzno. His parents were Jacob Czermak. Mother: Mary Wlodjek-Czermak.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I would welcome any input or comments you may have.

Also, I scoured the Polish book about this area and found many Skupiens, some Mikos and a few Hosanas.

Regards
Kathy

Hi Kathy,
You have come to the right place! You have a lot of information about your grandmother's family compared to what many of us started out with when we began our search.

I am very excited to see that your ancestors were in Podole. My family left Odrowaz and lived in Podole for a few years. My grandfather's sister and brother were born there. I cannot figure out what drew them to Podole. Interestingly, there were several families from Odrowaz, Pieniazkowice who went to Podole.

I can help you with more information. Check your private messages.
Welcome to Polish Origins - When I created my posts here 10 years ago, it was my hope to reach people like you whose ancestors were from my family village. Thank you for posting!

Kind Regards,
Shellie
