Post subject: Searching for Sandovich/Sandowicz Powchak/Popochak
Hello,
I am searching for any information about my great grandparents Christina Sandovich and Wasil/William Powchak. Christina was born in 1882 in Zdynia, Galicia. My understanding is that she is the 1/2 sister of Saint Maxim Sandovich. They shared the same father Timothei Sandovich and different mothers. Christina's mother was Ksenia Kawula who was born in 1857.
I am uncertain where Wasil was born and his last name seems to be different than what my family knew. Many have said that Powchak is Popochak. I do know that the two of them ended up in Yonkers, NY where they had my grandmother and her siblings.
Any information would be much appreciated and welcome.
